Best Before You best before beware of any revolution when it's bought or sold for cash by colonizers- subculture gentrifiers outliers fetishizing the working class that tear in those jeans you were trying to keep clean is the fray they display to look mean keep your rage to a sigh, cos in the blink of an eye they'll pass you by on the way sell another scene You best beware before labels like hateful and ungrateful are the staples of a fateful decline you might get what you asked for the disaster of a slacker with Charms that shrink the more they're applied every sly low key grand master plan to rebrand is a monument to all that we strand so suck up that serotonin, pinch your piss, and muffle moaning, cos not growing might be showing without sowing your just slowing every chance because your woe'ing never knowing the real meaning of pain At first we thought we won the day but in the end we lost our say flirting with games we shouldn't play repaid for all that we betrayed... the joke's on us now and the tragic comedy is one of mistakes that we once embraced to have the laugh at them

We dropped our arms and walked away opened our hands when offered pay we let convenience lead the way we couldn't even- keep the sheep at bay succumbed to comforts we never thought we'd see did we give up after one day we never made the bastards pay we left the slopes greased up or iced over we let the chips fall off our shoulders as they may the televised predators draped in crude sheep carcass crept back in sniffed out all our fears and pulled that wool over our eyes again if you don't meet them with cynicism then I sing to sling mud- you might be dumber than dumb dismiss, resist the mockery the botched bought historicity they lend we know the problems we create we wait and see we watch and wait and when it's not looking so great we're only armed with votes and prayers to stall our fate a cheer to the squad from another loud slob trying to play the activist or eccentric like a novelty gob of candy corn on the cob so sweet so insincerely authentic got all our rage out or did we age out does looking up to us require looking down well I'm not giving up just yet there's still some blood I have to let and when I'm on the terms of the Earth worms I'll rot with thoughts of times I did my best in the moments I stood up to all the rest with a torch but no mob to help me finish the job when I tried to burn impervious castles was there ever a chance to really win or advance in and endless battle coveting our souls got all our rage out or did we age out? does looking up to us require looking down? is hypocrisy the noise that drowns us out?

They were the elders last living leaders of the tribe and we took note the rest had all but gone and died so we knew those of us to stay the course might be too few but if we found doorways through the walls might not lock us in too When we were subjects to the shrinking breed ahead we were learning when to follow and when to know we were misled royalty with a little more humility with a touch of that humanity with honesty among our priorities We were bored and bold refused to step where we were told we were the pawns that made it across the board and saw the bigger picture as we plodded forward when we were kings and queens of our own different sides secretly we earned our royalty by braving the divides a crown of thorns just for moment where the close minded stay dormant while our kingdom opens up, spreads far and wide and the punks they didn't like the skins but maybe Jimmy was okay and the mods they never liked the punks but we copped speed any way and the ravers took refuge with the goths so we could hate them both at once while the hipsters attracted all the hate with all their cheap unsanctioned fun When we were subjects to those rules we hid behind we remembered the rejection that forced us to the outside raising walls and drawing borders paved the path of our disorder we break free let loose these honest open minds I've got friends in the shallow end because they hit their heads hard by diving in and in the shallow they remain sometimes I love them anyway still got friends in the shallow end must have hit their heads hard when they dove in deep in the shallow they remain and that's okay

Apples to apples the hapless laughable hack trappings In the know and just so on the nose Oranges to oranges forming the boringest forgeries the impressed at least at best gutless to testing the unknown wallowed in the reactions before one note to tape or word one to page who would've thought we'd be the clouds to rain grains of salt on our own pain pokes awoken the liar exhaling smoke, stoking fires toking on broken desires preaching in chorus to choirs and when the jokes are too tired we claim the ones who came prior is all that will ever matter which plants the seed to the chatter are we the former or latter who had the silverest platter and who got richer and fatter? and maybe we'll never matter

The Enemy 02:19
I am the enemy of every vain attempt to find some sanity and making sense of every grounded sensibility that's telling me it's time to walk away so drain my energy another vampire tapped into dry arteries if these fangs get rearranged by fists- will the lessons force a change or suck me further in fighting for the youth I tried to leave behind respected or arrested dumb or wise will it ever be better time? will there ever be some piece of mind? will I ever choose the path that offers up a little peace and quiet? what if ego impaired fragile minds? what if war was declared without pride? what if every fight was righteous but compulsion for it wasn't right? what if peace was right there the whole time what if peace was right there the whole time what if peace was right there right in front of you offering other ways? what you were just scared the whole time what you were just scared the whole time what if you were just scared that finding peace would make you nobody? fighting for the youth I never left behind respected or arrested dumb or wise advanced or blind every snake I try to guillotine grows two more heads twice as strong and mean so blades I use to slay are double edged not always striking clean guess I'm never giving up this fight that's the choice that let's me sleep at night even if it never ever never ever never turns out right
